Fallout 76 beta has access to full game content; Progress carries over

Bethesda has confirmed that decision to PC Gamer, saying that Fallout 76 will only be available to purchase through its website.

Bethesda has revealed that the upcomingFallout 76 BETA will include the full game and all player progress will be carried over to the November release.

It was previously announced that expansion DLC for the game will be free, but there will be paid cosmetic items.

This doesn't mean it won't ever come to Valve's behemoth platform, but for now, Bethesda is keeping Fallout 76 in-house.

Bethesda has been very secretive about the beta for Fallout 76, but they've made a decision to give us a small peek behind the curtain before QuakeCon starts this weekend by updating the beta's FAQ ahead of its planned release in October.

"Starting in October we'll be selecting people who have pre-ordered the game from a participating retailer to enter our beta", a Bethesda community administrator wrote on the official Fallout 76 forums in July. When Fallout Shelter was released for PC, it was exclusive to the Bethesda launcher too, though it did eventually see release on Steam a few months later. It makes sense for Bethesda to promote its own service, but Steam is such a ubiquitous platform when it comes to PC gaming.

In the Fallout 76 FAQ it said "Both the B.E.T.A. and the game will be available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and on PC (via Bethesda.net only)".

Bethesda is offering the game for preorder through Amazon, GameStop, and Best Buy.
