Sprint Overhauls Unlimited Plans: What's the Best Deal?

There's also a weird limited-time promo on Unlimited Plus, with prices working out to $22 per month per line for five lines provided you're not leasing a phone through Sprint.

For both plans, Sprint is doing something nice: it's raising its limit on unlimited data (it pains me to write that) from 23GB per month to 50GB per month, which is the same limit as T-Mobile.

Sprint's new "Unlimited Basic" plan costs $60 per month for one line of service or $140 for four lines of service, though it streams video at 480p resolution and only includes 500 MB of personal hotspot service. You do, however, still get a free basic Hulu streaming subscription. And Sprint's 4G LTE network is the most improved in the US with national average download speeds up 30.9 percent year-over-year, more than any other national carrier.6 Sprint is making its largest network investment in years and its Next-Gen Network build is well underway. You'll get 10GB of LTE data when you travel to Canada and Mexico, plus 15GB of LTE hotspot data.

Sprint is hardly the first carrier to divvy up its unlimited plans into multiple tiers. The over 55 plan has fewer features but costs only $50 for one line and $70 for two lines.

Sprint Unlimited Basic is for customers who have everyday needs for wireless. There's 500MB allowance of full-speed mobile hotspot with 3G limitations thereafter. Streaming in SD (DVD-quality). That's also true when roaming in Canada and Mexico.

Sprint salutes veterans, active duty and reserves of the USA armed forces with our Unlimited Military plan.

A single line of Unlimited Basic costs $60 a month, the same as Sprint's previous unlimited plan.

Credit: BravoKiloVideo/ShutterstockSprint has essentially split its unlimited plans in two, with the less expensive Unlimited Basic offering a lot of the same features as Sprint's outgoing Unlimited Freedom plan at a lower rate for families of four.

During the weekend of July 13-15, check out some exciting special offers for Sprint retail customers. Check with your local store for store hours.

The latest effort comes from Sprint, with the Now Network unveiling a pair of new unlimited offerings that shake up the features a bit. If you get five lines, it's $42 per month, per line. "So, hurry to a Sprint store, these promotions won't be around for long!"
