Shenmue I & II listed for August 21 release on Microsoft Store

The original Shenmue was first released in 2000 (1999 in Japan) and has only ever been available on Sega's Dreamcast console. Fortunately, they will soon be able to occupy their time during the wait with Shenmue I and II. The company had previously stated that the two games would be released as a remaster, but the date was initially leaked by a posting on the Microsoft store.

If you want to re-play these games-or see why so many fans contributed over $6 million to Shenmue III's ickstarter-you might be looking to pre-order the collection. It's worth noting that August 21 is a Tuesday, however, a day that most video games release in North America which means the rumored date is likely to be correct. For a closer look at the game, you can check out the newly-released trailer from SEGA below, and you can also head over to Amazon to pre-order a physical copy of the game now.

Shenmue I & II will be launching for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC on 21st August 2018 priced $29.99/£23.99, with enhanced, scaleable screen resolution, modern or classic control schemes, an updated UI and both the original Japanese or English voiceovers. The first game in the franchise originally appeared on the Sega Dreamcast back in 2000 and has never appeared on any other platform since.

Shenmue 1 & 2 arrives in 2018 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
