Watch first teaser trailer for Tim Burton’s magical remake of ‘Dumbo’

Disney released a new live-action teaser trailer for "Dumbo". The film, which had its first preview at CinemaCon back in April, follows in the line of Disney's recent trend of remaking and re-envisioning its animated classics in live action/CGI form, including remakes of "Cinderella", "The Jungle Book", and last year's "Beauty and the Beast". With that in mind, it will be interesting to see whether Burton and screenwriter Ehren Kruger stick to that spartan approach or actually add some additional flare to the beloved tale.

Dumbo is directed by Tim Burton, who previously helmed the hugely successful Alice in Wonderland for Disney, as well as classics such as Edward Scissorhands, Sleepy Hollow, and the 1989 Batman.

As Disney goes into its animation vault to pluck their beloved features and turn them into live-action tentpoles, despite making enough money to turn Mickey's eyes green, the results have been mixed at best.

It stars actor Colin Farrell as a former circus star, who is enlisted to help care for Dumbo, after he returns from war. Starring Colin Farrell, Michael Keaton, Danny DeVito, Eva Green, and Alan Arkin, these teaser is quite effective in its imagery, showing off a family-friendly alternative to Okja. It isn't Keaton's first time working with the director either, as he's known for his role as Betelgeuse in Burton's 1988 film Beetlejuice. "The original ends with the elephant flying", DeVito said previously.

Tim Burton's all-new live-action "Dumbo" soars into theatres March 2019.

The first trailer shows off some typically lavish production design from Burton, largely focusing on the circus setting.
