Michael Cohen reportedly separating with his lawyers in federal case

Cohen's lawyers had been scrambling to meet federal Judge Kimba Wood's Friday deadline to complete a review of over 3.7 million documents seized in the April 9 raids of Cohen's NY home, office and hotel room, the network reported.

The law firm representing Michael Cohen is leaving the case, a possible sign that President Trump's personal attorney may flip and cooperate with federal prosecutors, according to a media report Wednesday.

Jones reported last week that of the first 300,000 items reviewed, she had determined that just 162 of them were covered by attorney-client privilege.

"It would be a conflict right now for him to be the president's attorney", Giuliani said on ABC's "This Week With George Stephanopoulos".

Cohen, ABC News reported, is no longer represented by Stephen Ryan and Todd Harrison of the Washington and NY firm McDermott, Will & Emery, and no replacement has been identified. Phone messages left for Ryan were not immediately returned. Stormy Daniels, the adult film star who claims she had sex with Trump in 2006 and was then paid $130,000 to keep quiet about it, has also asked to join the case.

The switch in legal representation could be a prelude for a deal for Cohen to cooperate with prosecutors, legal analysts said, although the Journal reported that Cohen had not yet made such a decision.

A source told the New York Daily News that Cohen is "very stressed out" about a potential indictment, and that "none of it is good".

Cohen sued April 13 to try to block prosecutors from looking at communications protected by attorney-client privilege.

Trump has repeatedly said there was no collusion, and Russian Federation has denied interference.
