Donald Trump hits back at ‘very Low IQ’ Robert De Niro

Robert De Niro took the stage at Radio City Music Hall for the 72nd annual Tony Awards Sunday night, but CBS completely bleeped out his first words. "F-k Trump!" As the audience erupted in cheers, De Niro quickly added, "It's no longer 'Down with Trump.' It's 'F-k Trump!" "I watched him last night and truly believe me may be 'punch-drunk'".

Trump hit back at De Niro, whom he nicknamed "Punchy", using his preferred method of communication: Twitter.

Representatives for De Niro did not immediately return a request for comment. Without any preamble, he said, "I'm gonna say one thing".

De Niro apologized Monday - but on America's behalf to Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, whom Trump ripped Saturday as "very dishonest and weak" after the USA refused to sign the joint communique from global leaders attending the Group of Seven summit in Quebec.

But in a tweet, Mr Trump described the actor as "a very Low IQ individual".

Then on Monday, De Niro apologized to Canadians for Trump's insults after Trump called Prime Minister Justin Trudeau "weak" and "dishonest".

"F-- Trump", he said, referring to President Donald Trump. Trump was in Singapore to attend a historic meeting with the North Korean leader Kim Jong-un regarding the denuclearisation of the "nuke-bound" country.

"I just want to make a note of apology for the idiotic behavior of my president", he told the crowd.

De Niro is a seven-time Academy Award nominee, and won Oscars for playing Vito Corleone in "The Godfather Part II" and Jake LaMotta in "Raging Bull".
