David De Gea responds to Real Madrid transfer links

Socialist leader Sanchez, who took over as prime minister earlier this month after conservative Mariano Rajoy lost a vote of confidence, criticised De Gea two years ago amid sexual assault claims against the Manchester United player.

However, Real Madrid have been handed a huge boost this week in their pursuit of signing de Gea as the player has refused to rule out a possible exit from Manchester United this summer.

It had been said they could look to strike a deal before the World Cup begins in Russian Federation.

The 27-year-old had enjoyed a quiet evening against the Swiss before failing to hold a tame shot from Stephan Lichtsteiner, which allowed Ricardo Rodriguez to level.

'You have to be focused on having a good World Cup - we are all good.

"I always put my music on". Our qualifying campaign was nearly ideal and our idea is to carry that through in the finals, with a little luck and the team we've got, hopefully we can go far.

Former Barcelona goalkeeper Vitor Baia believes David de Gea still has parts of his game needing to be improved. The thing is, that, what he said at the time was said in public which is why I think he should also apologise publicly. "I still don't know what was behind it all and everything that came out a few days before the start of Euro 2016".

De Gea heads into the World Cup on the back of a clean sheet in a 1-0 friendly victory over Tunisia. "I was more or less hidden ahead the media because there was a time that I have not been treated as I should", De Gea continued. "There are many people who do not deserve to do interviews for them". We have a great national team but every game is a battle for us. It personally didn't affect me much but obviously I have people close to me that are affected by this more than me.

"They haven't been fair to me".

"Football is football and a thousand things can happen". It is important to be focused and be 100 per cent'.
