‘Avengers: Infinity War’ Becomes Fourth Pic To Cross $2 Billion Global Mark

The Marvel tentpole now stands as the fourth highest-grossing film of all time, unadjusted for inflation, behind Avatar ($2.79 billion), Titanic ($2.19 billion), and Star Wars: The Force Awakens ($2.07 billion). Even Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige said that Hawkeye skipping "Infinity War" is "one of the best things that ever happened" to the character. All of those films were released over the winter holidays.

The supersized superhero hit Avengers: Infinity War has crossed US$2 billion in worldwide ticket sales, becoming only the fourth film to reach that rarified box-office milestone. Domestically, Avengers: Infinity War stands as the fifth highest grossing film of all time with $656.1 million through June 11, 2018. The movie opened to an impressive $199.3 million in China two weeks after its global debut and went on to become the third-biggest release ever in the country, with $369.7 million to date.

It is also the most successful Hollywood film ever released in India.

Infinity War posted the biggest opening days in South Korea ($39.2 million), Mexico ($25.1 million), Brazil ($18.8 million), the Philippines ($12.5 million), Thailand ($10 million), Indonesia ($9.6 million) and Malaysia ($8.4 million).

He may not be the most powerful hero, but Iron Man is clearly the heart of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Circling back to Infinity War, though, and it's fair to say that Hawkeye was sorely missed from the sequel's marketing campaign, resulting in a series of rather brilliant mock-up posters, as impassioned fans took it upon themselves to include Jeremy Renner's sharpshooter in the proceedings. Infinity war ended on a cliffhanger when half of the universe was wiped off after Thanos did his infamous snap of the fingers. As of the writing of this story, Infinity War has grossed $2 billion worldwide.
