Apple announces iOS 12 and macOS Mojave

A number of apps from developers, including Office 365 from Microsoft and Lightroom CC from Adobe will also soon find their way into the Mac App Store. Now, however, things are official. In addition, Mojave will feature a new "Dynamic Desktop" mode that can alter your Mac's desktop picture to match the time of the day.

The tvOS developer preview is available for Apple Developer Program members. This year, it was inspired by the desert (hence, Mojave, which is a desert). News is now available on MacOS through Mojave as is Stocks.

Dark Mode provides dark-themed interfaces in macOS windows and apps like Apple Music.

App Store Connect allows app developers to upload, submit, and manage apps; view sales reports; measure user engagement; create promo codes; and respond to reviews.

With everyone focusing so much on data, Apple took the time to announce new privacy controls. Users will be able to lock down access to their camera, location, microphone, cookies, messaging history, and more.

Apple is finally bringing the Home app to MacOS.

On Reddit, a running thread is breaking down the various app compatibility issues with macOS 10.14. The Mac App Store has also been updated with the same experience as iOS, which features rich editorial content to discover the right Mac app, while tabs such as Create, Work, Play and Develop helps users to find the app for specific objective. Mojave also comes with a slew of quick actions along with Apple Home integration, giving users the ability to adjust their smart home gadgets directly via Mac dashboard or by asking Siri. The Stocks app is also getting a massive update with integration of the News app. That's why Apple has made a decision to not support 32-bit apps beyond Mojave. Again, it's just like Voice Memos on iPhone and iPad, but on Mac. For instance, you can use the macOS device to enable your iPhone's camera to scan a document and save it to all devices at the same time.

The other big new feature is Stacks which will help you tame a busy desktop by organizing files into neat groups. A simple click on Stacks will also reveal all the contents.

Perhaps one of the updates, that will be most welcome, is an all-new Dark Mode which instantly transforms the menus and applications with a darkened colour scheme making it easier to view content and files on the screen.

Safari has also been overhauled to reduce fingerprinting and tracking on the web. You can add signatures to PDFs, trim videos, and even rotate and crop images right from Quick Look.

If you're not a fan of the new aesthetic, you'll be able toggle between a light and dark mode.

Press the shutter button and your new photo will immediately be inserted into the app you have open on your Mac. This app thus started billing automatically after the end of their free trial period.

This particular feature is being tested, but has yet to be included in any of the beta iOS versions.
