Microsoft releases new updates for Windows 10 version 1703 and 1709

Microsoft officials also noted that Office Insiders on the Fast Ring can now try out integration of single sign-in across Windows 10 April 2018 Update and Office 365.

It is also worth noting that not all systems are getting the update right now, and there are no known issues or bugs hitting these two updates at the time of writing this story.

Microsoft provides no further explanation on the update.

KB4134660 and KB4134661 update releases are privacy related.

Intel is still trying to lower the heat caused by the Spectre V2 issue.

In a post on the Microsoft Community, moderator Lonnie_L explained recently: "When attempting to upgrade to the Windows 10 April 2018 Update, select devices with Intel SSD 600p Series or Intel SSD Pro 6000p Series may crash and enter a UEFI screen after reboot". If users are not sure what microcode recommendation should be used for their device, they should consult the device manufacturer before applying the update.

In both cases, Microsoft is recommending that users go back to their previous version of Windows (the Fall Creators Update), or reinstall the entire OS if they can't access the Windows setting panel from where they can downgrade. Released with the April 2018 Update, Microsoft has now confirmed that it will be supported by Android and iOS platforms.

Everyone else on the Creators (version 1703) or Fall Creators Update (version 1709) should be seeing KB4134660 or KB4134661. Microsoft hasn't provided any more information on the two updates for Windows 10 but we'll update the article if and when new information is available.
