People who have purchased one of the chainsaws are encouraged to return it to the store immediately for a replacement.

Chainsaw usage has been recommended to cease by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission in a statement on Tuesday, CBS News reports.

The recall notice says replacement chainsaws have been available since May 1, but the Harbor Freight website says they won't be available until Monday, May 21. It's task is to protect the public from "unreasonable risks or death associated with the use of thousands of types of consumer products under the agency's jurisdiction".
