Diego Maradona to work for FC Dynamo Brest

The Argentine, 57, left Fujairah on April 27 after failing to guide the UAE second-tier side to automatic promotion to the Arabian Gulf League.

Confirming the appointment on social media, Brest tweeted: "Yes, Diego is with us".

Today, Diego Maradona signed a contract with FC Dynamo Brest. Fujairah clinched a place in the top flight earlier this week by coming through a play-off with Hatta. "Thanks for the trust and for thinking of me".

Dinamo Brest are now at the eighth spot in the Belarusian Premier League, the team will take on BATE Borisov in the cup final on Saturday.

Maradona, one of football's most divisive figures off the field, will oversee the "strategic development" of the club when he takes over following the June14-July 15 World Cup in Russian Federation, according to a tweet.

Maradona has signed a three-year deal with Brest and is tasked with "dealing with strategic development of the club". With him in charge the Brest-based team won the Super Cup and qualified for the final of Belarus' Cup.

He will assume his duties after the end of the world Cup, which will start soon in Russian Federation.
