Sony India launches a range of wireless headphones and speakers

Expanding its audio line-up for the millennials in the country, Sony India on Monday launched a new headphone series and "EXTRA BASS" wireless speakers.

Out of these, the WF-SP700N is the world's first wireless splash-proof headphones with noise cancellation.

A truly wireless design is important when wearing headphones on the go. The user can just turn on the Ambient Sound mode to stay aware of the surrounding sounds. The headphones series is created to offer premium and refined sound, says the company. Sony WF-SP700N users can further tweak the EQ settings of their headphone using Headphones Connect app. They come with arc supporters and fit in a one-touch-open charging case that is said to charge the earphones in 1.5 hours that can last for approximately 3 hours. The headphones - WF-SP700N and WI-SP600N will become smarter with Google Assistant and will be optimized with an update in future.

WI-SP600N and WI-SP500 These wireless in-ear headphones boast of the same digital noise cancelling and sound quality technology and the same level splash-proof rating as the WF-SP700N. The SP600N comprises of noise cancelation, IPX4 certification for waterproofing, and six hours of claimed battery life. Sony is also introducing WI-C300, WH-CH400 and WH-CH500 as part of the revamped lineup in India. It is set to get Google Assistant support soon via a software update.

Lastly, the WI-C300, WH-CH400, and WH-CH500 are wireless headphones that come with a one-button shortcut to Google Assistant. The three headphone models will be available from 15 May. It has been priced at Rs. 15,990 and will be available starting May 15. The WI-SP500, WI-C300, WH-CH400 and WH-CH500 are priced at Rs 4,990, Rs 2,990 and Rs 3,790 respectively, and are now available through select Sony retail stores. The WH-CH500 for Rs 4,490, along with the features on the CH400, has a swivel design that makes it convenient to carry.

The "EXTRA BASS" series headphones has been refreshed with three devices - SRS-XB41, SRS-XB31 and SRS-XB21. All the three speakers come with IP67 rating and can be purchasd in up to four colors. On the WI-SP500 the battery life of up to eight hours. As the market is moving towards wireless headphones, Sony is embracing the phenomenon head-on with six new wireless headphones and three Bluetooth speakers. The speakers are enabled with "Party Booster" feature which enhances every beat and gives the party an extra boost.

Along with the sports range, Sony has also launched an affordable wireless range with a starting price of Rs 2,990.
