Mets' record start continues with ninth straight win

Todd Frazier hit his first two home runs with the Mets, catcher Jose Lobaton tripled in his first at-bat with the team, and NY extended its winning streak to nine with a 6-5 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers on Friday night. A wild pitch by Dan Jennings ultimately put the game out of reach for the Brewers when the Mets scored on the mistake. It was Nunez's second homer of 2018 and his first since a two-run, inside-the-parker on Opening Day.

Frazier hit an RBI single in the first but the Mets stranded 11 runners in the first five innings and led only 1-0. Milwaukee starter Zach Davies allowed five runs on seven hits including two homers over 4.1 innings to absorb the loss.

Jeurys Familia (1-0) worked around a walk in a hitless ninth.

Martinez (2-1) allowed two hits and four walks while helping send the Reds to their eighth consecutive loss, one short of matching their longest losing streak of last season.

It was Anderson's third quality start in his last four outings dating back to the 2017 season. But the Dodgers swept Arizona 3-0 past year in the NL division series.

Rockies 2, Nationals 1: Carlos Gonzalez homered and later hit a tiebreaking sacrifice fly as Colorado defeated host Washington.

6-1 in their last 7 home games vs. a right-handed starter. Milwaukee moved to 8-7 with the win. Still, he was in a position to collect his second win of the season but the Mets' bullpen was unable to hold the lead.

Angels 5, Royals 4: Ian Kinsler's eighth inning sacrifice fly scored Shohei Ohtani with the go-ahead run as Los Angeles edged by Kansas City.

Miami's Justin Bour added two knocks, including a two-run homer, his third in three games.

Blue Jays 8, Indians 4: Teoscar Hernandez, just recalled from Triple-A Buffalo, doubled in the go-ahead run in the seventh inning, and Toronto went on to defeat host Cleveland.

Jorge Alfaro singled in the go-ahead run with two outs in the top of the ninth inning, and Philadelphia won for the sixth time in seven games in beating host Tampa Bay.

Lorenzo Cain #6 of the Milwaukee Brewers can not get to a triple hit by Brandon Nimmo #9 of the New York Mets in the fourth inning during their game at Citi Field on April 15, 2018 in New York City.

But the discomfort was short-lived: Frazier hit his second homer of the game to lead off the bottom of the inning, putting the Mets back up 3-2.

PADRES 10, GIANTS 1: Joey Lucchesi struck out nine in six innings, fellow rookie Christian Villanueva homered, doubled and drove in three runs, and San Diego Padres beat visiting San Francisco for the third straight game.
