Lenovo introduces new ThinkPad Lineup, starting Rs 54000 in India

Lenovo on Thursday expanded its notebook family in India by launching the refreshed ThinkPad X1, as well as some new models in the ThinkPad T, ThinkPad X, and ThinkPad L series.

As unveiled at CES 2018 in Barcelona, the ThinkPad X1 Carbon is touted to be the "world's lightest 14-inch business laptop" with a lightweight chassis that is designed using advanced carbon fibre composite.

ThinkPad X280 starts from Rs 73,000 while the X380 Yoga starts from Rs 87,000. The lineup is Powered by the 8th Gen Intel core processors. Focusing on security, Lenovo has also introduced the ThinkShutter physical webcam cover for camera and augmented biometric security with anti-spoofing capabilities.

Supported by the Dolby Vision HDR, the X1 Carbon and Y1 Yoga are equipped with the Glance eye tracking with IR camera. The company has launched ThinkPad X1 Carbon, ThinkPad X1 Yoga, ThinkPad X280, ThinkPad X380 Yoga, ThinkPad T480s, ThinkPad T480, ThinkPad T580, ThinkPad L380 Yoga and ThinkPad L380. There is also an integrated 54Wh battery that is claimed to deliver up to 15 hours of usage on a signal charge.

There are USB-Type C power adapters for universal charging and additional Type C/thunderbolt ports. The ThinkPad X280, meanwhile, is now 20 per cent lighter than its immediate predecessor.

Hardware-wise, it features a 14-inch 1080p IPS LCD, 1.6GHz Core i5-8250U quad-core processor, 8GB of RAM, and a 256GB SSD.

ThinkPad X280 and X380 Yoga are cheaper version of the two above said laptops that deliver same functionality but in a laptop - and not an ultrabook - form factor. Lenovo claims a staggering battery life of 27 hours.

The ThinkPad T series are designed for corporates. For a more enhanced experience, the X380 Yoga comes with an Active Pen and a secure IR camera actress and Windows Hello. All the notebooks are powered by Intel 8th Gen and one can also opt for new discrete AMD graphics on the ThinkPad L580.

Lastly, the L-series of the line-up includes 13-inch, 14-inch and 15-inch notebooks and optimal multi-touch support accompanied with a docking solution.

ThinkPad T Series includes the T480s, T480 and the T580, which will hit the market later this month at a starting price of Rs 86,000, Rs 69,000 and Rs 74,000. The latest Think portfolio is in line with the changes that new technologies have brought about. Speaking about the pricing of the L-series, The ThinkPad L380 retails at Rs 61,000; the ThinkPad L380 Yoga retails at Rs 65,000, the ThinkPad L480 retails at Rs 54,000 and the premium L580 at Rs 55,000.
