Apple prompts iPhone users to enroll in Apple Pay

Apple reportedly working on new two technologies, which includes curved displays and touchless gesture control that would be used in future iPhones, reported Mark Gurman at Bloomberg, citing people who claim to have knowledge of its research. Except for the iPhone X, all the other iPhone models so far have sported a flat display. Smartphones have become increasingly similar as Apple, Samsung, Google, and Huawei Technologies adopt features like full screens, advanced cameras, and facial recognition at roughly the same time. Samsung is already working on a foldable smartphone, while Huawei is seeing increased success in Asia.

Since Apple's launch of iPhone X a year ago, we have seen many rumours as to what the next device from the Cupertino giant might look like. Also in the works alongside the new displays, is a new gesture control feature.

The second screen is a more extreme example which shows an iPhone that's several years old or has a battery that's losing an unusual amount of charge. Instead of putting the sensors in the bezel, the entire screen would act as a sensor to detect finger proximity and position. Samsung Galaxy S4 had Air gestures that allowed users to interact with the device without touching it. The new OLED iPhone X will have a screen size of 6.5 inches as compared to the previous iPhone X size 5.8 inch. Apple is likely to use an OLED screen for the aforementioned tech as well as they are more flexible than the regular LCD screen panels.

Apple, last week Tuesday, launched a refreshed version of its 9.7-inch iPad, which starts at US$299 for schools, but will keep its consumer price for the device at US$329 - a price which had been lowered from US$499 past year.

The features could help Apple differentiate itself in a crowded market where phones generally look the same.

Apple has also introduced a new chat system so that users can communicate with businesses.

Apple's manufacturing partners are gearing up for MicroLED production if news from Taiwan proves to be entirely accurate.
