TDP renominates Ramesh for Rajya Sabha seat

As soon as the Lok Sabha met for the day, Ms Mahajan adjourned the proceedings soon after as protests by Opposition parties and NDA ally TDP over various issues, including the banking scam, special status to Andhra Pradesh and the Cauvery water dispute, continued unabated.

With members continuing their protest, the Chair was forced to adjourn the House till 2pm. However, the House was adjourned for the day within a couple of minutes.

Last week, on the direction of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and TDP chief N. Chandrababu Naidu, Union Aviation Minister P Ashok Gajapathi Raju and Union Minister of State for Science and Technology and Earth Sciences Y.S. Chowdary submitted their resignations to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

YSR Congress leader Vaivi Subbareddy introduced an adjournment motion in the Lok Sabha to discuss the Andhra Pradesh row, and Jan Adhikar Party leader Pappu Yadav introduced the motion in the Lower House to discuss the alleged leak of a question paper for an exam the Staff Selection Commission conducted in February. "This is too much", said Naidu, asking members to go back to their seats as he would allow discussion on all matters. Naidu in his two tweets said: "We will work day and night to rebuild the state, I have the experience, people of this state are hard working, but BJP is failing to provide justcie to the state".

When the House met again at 2 pm, minister SS Ahluwalia laid on the table the statement regarding the status of implementation of recommendations contained in the 35th report of the Department-related Parliamentary Standing Committee on Rural Development on Demands for Grants (2017-18).

Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu adjourned the House till 2 PM amidst noisy scenes.

In the Lok Sabha, members belonging to Congress, Trinamool Congress and others trooped into the well raising slogans.

After a lot of dilly dallying and holding consultations with the stake holders, crucial leaders of the party, TDP supremo Chandrababu Naidu has zeroed in on the Rajya Sabha candidates from the party.

Unrelenting members from the TDP stormed the well, carrying placards demanding special status for Andhra Pradesh while the AIADMK demanded the setting up of a Cauvery water management board.

In between, Congress, TMC, Left and others started shouting slogans on Bank Fraud cases.
