Mourinho Slams De Boer Over Rashford Comments

Jose Mourinho has never been one to mince his words.

He said: "It's a pity that the manager is Mourinho because normally, he's an English player, you want to give him time and he can then make mistakes, but Mourinho is not like that".

The England ace made his first league start since Boxing Day last weekend and scored twice to help United sink bitter rivals Liverpool.

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has hit back at former Crystal Palace manager Frank de Boer after the Netherlands global said that it was a "pity" that Marcus Rashford was playing under Mourinho at Old Trafford.

Mourinho was responding to De Boer's criticism of how he is using Marcus Rashford at United.

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has slammed former Crystal Palace manager Frank de Boer for his comments regarding the Portuguese's handling of England global Marcus Rashford.

"He was saying it is not good for Marcus Rashford to have to be coached by me".

De Boer lost all four of his Premier League games without scoring a goal before he was sacked by Palace in September.

The former Netherlands defender, who worked alongside Mourinho at Barcelona when the United manager was Louis van Gaal's assistant, didn't win any of his league games as Palace manager and his team didn't score a goal.

As usual, though, a number of fans and pundits fed off of the hype of the game, and idiotically hit out at Mourinho for not playing Rashford more often. "We are going to try to show we are better but I don't feel we have any advantage". "I think we're not one of the best teams in the competition but when a team arrives in the last eight, anything can happen", he said. Does he play every match from the start? No.

However, the accompanying article neglects to mention just how many of Rashford's 93 games have come from the bench. I'm really happy too.

While Rashford has struggled for minutes in 2018 he has actually been used regularly in the main by Mourinho since the former Chelsea boss took over at Old Trafford ahead of the 2016-17 season. Of course not. He's a player we trust.
