Matt Damon and Ben Affleck Vow to Embrace the Inclusion Rider Clause

Ben Affleck and Matt Damon are pledging to do their part to boost diversity in the entertainment industry.

And now, Damon and Affleck are doing the same for projects from their Pearl Street Films. The term reached wide public consciousness earlier this month at the 90th Academy Awards, when best-actress victor Frances McDormand noted it in her acceptance speech.

Frances McDormand really set Hollywood's talking point for the next year when she ended her best actress acceptance speech at this year's Oscars with these two words: "inclusion rider".

The news was announced on Twitter by the company's head of strategic outreach Fanshen Cox DiGiovanni in response to a tweet from Michael B. Jordan in which he announced his own production company would be adopting the rider.

Michael B. Jordan attends the European Premiere of "Black Panther" at Eventim Apollo on February 8, 2018 in London. Following McDormand's call to action, Michael B. Jordan got the trend going in earnest, formally announcing that he will be using inclusion riders for all forthcoming projects he produces.

"We all have stories to tell and we need finance".

The Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri star also took the chance to shine a light on the little-known term, inclusion rider. Invite us into your office in a couple days - or you can come to ours, whichever suits you best - and we'll tell you all about them.

The Annenberg Inclusion Initiative, the foremost think tank tackling diversity issues in Hollywood and that includes Cox DiGiovanni as a board member, congratulated Pearl Street Films on the announcement.
