Joy Behar apologizes to Christians after Mike Pence's interview on "Hannity"

"She called me. She was very honest, and she apologized and one of the things my faith teaches me is grace; forgive as you've been forgiven", Pence told Hannity...

"It's one thing to talk to Jesus".

When former White House staffer and reality show star Omarosa Manigault spoke of Pence on her new show "Big Brother", she alleged that the vice president heard the voice of Jesus.

On C-SPAN the next day, Pence attacked ABC, saying that the network should not have broadcast a "forum that compared Christianity to mental illness".

Pence said he accepted Behar's apology and asked her to make a broader one.

Behar said Tuesday she'd been raised to respect all faiths and that she fell short of that last month. "She made a call to him and apologized, which I thought was absolutely appropriate".

"I sincerely apologize for what I said", Behar added. "So I think Vice President Pence is right", she agreed. "That's part of my faith experience.' But I did encourage her and I'm still encouraging her, to use the forum of that program or some other public forum, to apologize to tens of millions of Americans who were equally offended". He said at a meeting with investors, "Joy Behar apologized to Vice President Pence directly". "It is simply wrong for ABC to have a television program that expresses that kind of religious intolerance". "I'd like to be light about it, but I really can't - not for my sake, but for the tens of millions of Americans who cherish their faith, I just, I can't be silent".

Last week, Disney CEO Bob Iger became the first person to break the news that Behar had made an apology to Pence.

McCain added that she has sometimes felt that "liberals say, "We need to be tolerant of everyone" except prolifers, except Trump supporters, except gun owners, except for everyone in the red in the middle of the country".

By the end of February, the MRC's campaign had led to at least 30,000 calls insisting that Behar apologize, as well as 6,000 calls to the daytime show's sponsors, according to Fox News.
