CM Punk reveals he's fighting at UFC 225 on Twitter

As expected, the former professional wrestling superstar for the WWE, Phil "CM Punk" Brooks will be giving MMA another go after his terrible debut back at UFC 203 in September of 2016. Eventually he committed to giving the 39-year-old another opportunity, and when the organization announced UFC 225 would takes place in Punk's backyard of Chicago, it seemed like a natural fit for his return.

Punk claims he will win and cry when he locks eyes with his wife (fellow ex-WWE star AJ Lee) and coaches. Punk has no amateur MMA experience to speak of and he does train with Roufusport out of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

At the time of this writing, it is unknown who Punk's opponent for UFC 225 is going to be. If Punk's statement is to be taken at face value, he'll be fighting at the event.

All signs point to Phil "CM Punk" Brooks making his second octagon appearance at UFC 225 in June.

CM Punk's made a decision to quit the WWE and pursue his dream of being a cage fighter in the UFC.

Jackson has not fought since losing to Gall in February 2016, which was his only professional MMA fight to date.

Fittingly enough, Jackson is also 0-1 in his UFC career, with his loss coming in a first-round submission to Gall at UFC Fight Night 82. The main card airs on pay-per-view following prelims on FS1 and UFC Fight Pass, though the full lineup ands bout order haven't been finalized.

June 9 is UFC 225 in Chicago - Punk's hometown.
