Bengals Trading For OL Cordy Glenn

According to Josina Anderson of ESPN, the Bills have traded their left tackle to the Bengals.

The trade will now see the Bills take a step closer to landing their desired future franchise quarterback, moving up to 12th in the draft, while the Bengals move down to 21st overall. The Bengals are dropping nine spots in the first round of the draft to acquire Glenn, which is a steep price to pay if Glenn isn't a 100 percent.

Glenn has been a Bills starter since his rookie season in 2012. There was a lot of praise and hype surrounding Ogbuehi coming out of Texas A&M, as he was set to become Andrew Whitworth's replacement when he left the Bengals before last season.

After trading away Tyrod Taylor to the Cleveland Browns last Friday, general manager Brandon Beane made yet another trade that puts the Bills in great position for the draft. This moves the Bills from the No. 21 overall pick to the No. 12 overall pick. He played 11 games in 2016 and only six past year. Adding one or more of their second- or third-round picks to the deal could push Buffalo higher in the order. With Dawkins productivity this year and with him having the much cheaper contract, Glenn was more than likely on his way out. The upside for the Bengals is that if Glenn doesn't get healthy or doesn't work out in Cincinnati, they can release him after the 2018 season without taking a cap hit.

Buffalo Bills offensive tackle Cordy Glenn (77) against the New York Jets at New Era Field.

As long as he's healthy, Glenn will be an instant upgrade over any tackle that the Bengals now have on the roster. The Bengals will also have Glenn under contract for non-guaranteed base salaries of $7.25 million (2018) and $7.5 million (2019), as well as $2 million roster bonuses each season.
