Apple to Launch New Entry-Level MacBook Soon

News from Asia, however, says that Apple might not reduce the price of the laptop. However, it looks like the price is going to be similar to the current one, especially since Apple chose to include Retina Display for the MacBook Air 2018.

The big problem will be that the Apple fans expected the new MacBook Air 2018 to be cheap, and with a Retina Display it could have a higher price than some of the company's client would like. According to the report, the 13-inch MacBook will feature a 2560×1600 panel, with a 226 PPI density - the same as the 13-inch MacBook Pro.

Apple is about to announce a new entry-level MacBook with Retina Display some point in Q2 2018, a report has claimed, making an announcement at WWDC 2018 look likely.

However, the MacBook Air 2018 will come with LG-made Retina Displays, thus, we should expect high-quality displays.

The report notes that LG Display will begin supplying the panel in April, with the new MacBook Air expected to enter mass production in May or early June. The revised 13.3-incher is reportedly aiming for a price tag around the "same level as that of the existing MacBook Air or slightly higher".

Whilst it seems like it will be cheaper than the current 12-inch MacBook which costs $1299, Digitimes is not very precise when it comes to pricing.

Quanta / Foxconn will make a split of the orders 70 / 30 respectively.

Apple wants to manufacture six million units this year, although analysts expect volume to reach only four million.

"In other supply chain news it's noted that Apple is to release a new affordable 9.7" iPad in Q2 and a new iPad Pro in the second half of the year. The tablet will go on sale in the second quarter of 2018, while new iPad Pro models are due in the second half of the year.
