Sea of Thieves beta extended by 2 days

It appears that even after yesterday's Sea of Thieves update to fix the "too early" bug, there are still some players are still locked out of the closed beta.

Pirate booty-'em-up Sea of Thieves has had its closed beta extended by two days, developer Rare announced on the game's official website. The fix for the issue began rolling out last night (UK time) and is unfortunately taking longer than anticipated to reach all affected players.

The Closed Beta will now end on Wednesday, January 31st at 8am GMT. Rare also added that the Design an Achievement Contest has also been extended. Considering this included players who pre-ordered the game to get access, the issue was a major one and kept persisting even with Rare trying to deploy fixes. "Whilst we work on making this happen, we'd like to announce that we're extending the Sea of Thieves Closed Beta by two days". Those now enjoying it will get more time do so, those who haven't had the chance yet will feel less like they've missed out and the developers can gather more data and feedback.

A number of gamers who had pre-ordered the digital version of Sea of Thieves were receiving a message stating that they were "too early" when they tried to access the closed beta, despite it already being opened up.

Should leave plenty of time for the remaining issues to be resolved, and for players to explore more of the beta uninterrupted. "Sea of Thieves" is scheduled to be released on March 20 for Xbox One and Windows PC.
